Vão
A series of architectural 3D renders for a Lisbon furniture studio — stills and loops for launch campaign and trade press.

/ OVERVIEW
Architectural 3D renders for a Lisbon furniture studio — material and shadow carrying a collection with no physical showroom.
The challenge
Vão's collection launched before the physical pieces existed in any showroom. The renders had to carry the entire weight of the launch — convincing trade press and buyers that the furniture was worth specifying, from pixels alone.
Furniture renders usually look either flat-catalogue or over-styled. The brief was museum-grade: material honesty, real light behaviour, and restraint — no fake plants, no sunset gradients, nothing the actual product couldn't deliver.
The approach
Material study
Each material — concrete, brushed steel, untreated oak — was built and tested in isolation before any composition, so surfaces read true under scrutiny.
Single-source lighting
Every shot uses one controlled light so shadow becomes as expressive as the object — the void around each piece does as much work as the piece itself.
Stills + motion
Hero stills for editorial, short looping turntables for paid social — one scene file, two outputs, a consistent look across formats.
